Criticisms of Objectivism?

Truly objectivism isn't much of a philosophy but rather a sort of a cultish doctrine. Basically it's a collection of Ayn Rand's opinions, not a system to interpret some aspect of our existence through (which is what philosophy deals with). So today a stranger stopped me and told me that he had locked his keys in his car and wanted some cab fare to get to his house so he could grab his spare. He took down my info so he could get to me and pay me back, and said he'd be back in a couple of hours. Sure enough, those couple of hours came and went, and I never saw the money I lent him again. NOTE: I am not trollin'. I am not making this up to get attention or sympathy. I have this one friend who is the nicest person you'll ever meet, she always chipper (to a fault, not overly chipper), polite, friendly, never swears, never holds a grudge, shes the best kind of person to be friends with. Hi I'm a teenage girl and I just got out of school a few days ago. I usually chat my friends online but I got up early today and nobody is on. I like to do crafts and I need stuff to do that could decorate my room's walls or help me organize it better. I don't have popsicle sticks but I do have foam stickies, a hot glue gun, glue stick, double sided tape, elmer's glue, card stock of many different colors, i have pipe cleaners, different sized styrofoam balls, paint, gardening tape, and a few other things. How do you personally help others in need?

If I see somebody in need, I help as much as I can. I want my children to grow up believing that you should help if you can, but to also know when to cut their losses and not get taken advantage of. We volunteer at two shelters, one being a homeless shelter and one being an abused women's shelter. I give time, money, food, clothes, toys etc. If somebody actually needs the help and aren't spending their money on drugs and alcohol instead of food for their children, I will help as much as possible as long as my children aren't affected in anyway. My kids will not go without what they need so I can support somebody else, but if I have the means no problem.

Did I eat too much today?

For breakfast I had an egg sandwich with green tea (no sweetener), for lunch I had fried shrimp with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese, and for a snack I had two sugar free popsicles and for dinner I had cereal and brussel sprouts and bacon. Why is my father in law so selfish?

I have been there for him and my mother in law whenever they need a a translator and favor but when I ask for a favor it's a problem. How to keep chocolate syrup from dripping onto your hands?

If it is a bread type of dessert, bake an extra little flat section to go underneath the whole dessert (still on the stick). You can either stick that on after the dessert has been dipped, or stick it on before, and just don't dip that part of it. This way, the extra piece under the dessert will absorb any chocolate that drips down. The piece should be about an inch thick, and sort of a spongy shortcake consistency. Not too moist, or it will break apart easily and won't stay on the stick.

Meh. don't really like the Knight in shining armor image. I see them as grown tall 7 year old boys. The last paragraph is accurate-without the knight-he can learn to work at a relationship, it just does not come naturally to him. They are idealistic and child-like. The first and third paragraphs are also accurate. I guess I see them in a more practical light than the author of the description. Aries are good natured, positive in attitude, anticipate the best in everyone. They don't think in sneaky terms, they have to learn how to lie or cheat, it does not come naturally. What is the design I can use for the strongest bridge under this criteria?

Now for a project I have to build a bridge with popsicle sticks and the max number sticks I can use is 40. The bridge has to span over a 6 inch river and a 2 inch tall boat has to be able to pass under it. We are only allowed to used popsicle sticks provided for us already and white Elmer's glue.
